For Fighters

All contestants competing in professional combative sports events in Calgary are required to read and understand the following:

 

  • Combative Sport Bylaw (53M2006)
  • Policy
  • Commission rules and regulations for combative sport –  Kickboxing or  Mixed Martial Arts
  • Medical requirements (coming soon)

 

Contestants confirmed for an upcoming card must complete a number of requirements in order to legally compete in Calgary. These requirements help the CCSC ensure the safety of all competitors and the integrity of Calgary’s professional combative sports industry.

 

 

Here are the steps fighters must complete:

REQUIREMENT

15 Days

Complete and submit the Prefight Information Form, which includes information such as:

 

  • contact information
  • identities under which the fighter has competed
  • pre-fight weight
  • previous injuries sustained in and out of the ring
  • amateur and professional experience
  • age
  • emergency contact

 

NOTE: Your event promoter typically files this form on the competitor’s behalf.

15 Days

All medical paperwork (Policy 1533 – Medical Requirements – coming soon) is to be filed electronically with the promoter and the Commission. Clear, legible documents are to be scanned or faxed (no pictures)

1 Day prior to event

Attend the official weigh-in and pass the prefight medical

Event day

Arrive at the venue 1.5 hours before the start of the event

Post-Fight

Must complete a post-fight medical and adhere to the instructions from the ringside physician
